A statement of purpose is an essay about ones achievements, academic records, hobbies etc. In other words, it explains everything you have done and will continue to do in your academic pursuits. As such, it has to be detailed and straight to the point. Nowadays, admission and scholarship committees use statement of purpose as the benchmark for selecting candidates. For example, if you are applying for a scholarship abroad, you will be expected to write a statement of purpose. Do not use ambiguous terms or words as this will only distort the idea.
