STUDY IN RUSSIA

Russia has top flight universities that offer qualitative education. These universities offer courses ranging from medicine, engineering, sciences, humanities etc.
Today, I want to talk about education in russia and the cost associated with it.
First, lets take a look at the tuition fee.
Universities in russia charge very low tuition fees as $2000 per academic year. Though it varies depending on the course and university involved. Tuition fees for medicine, engineering, design and architecture are usually on the high side. Their fees usually range from $2500-$3500 per session. Note that you can also consider study in Bordeaux University in France.
ACCOMODATION.
Basically two types- hostel and off-campus. Cost of hostel accomodation range from $150-$200 per monthly. Off-campus accomodation are usually on the high side, between $250-$400 monthly.
FOOD.
Food is extremely cheap in russia! For as low as $100-$150, you can feed for a month.
But its largely dependent on the eating habbit of student.
LANGUAGE TRAINING.
This is compulsory for international students who don't speak russian or ukrainian language. Since courses are taught with these two languages, russian education authority demands that all students applying to study in russia undergo language training. This is usually carried out in the first year of admission and will cost the student approximately $1500.
Students who are succesfull will then be allowed to study.
So all things put together, to study in russia, one needs about $3500-$4000 annually for tuition, food, accomodation etc.
If you are interested in studying in russia, kindly visit RACUS website(www.edurussia.ru) or any of the branches around you.
RACUS is a body used by the russian government to help international students secure admission into russian universities and they charge $400 for their services.

LOCAL AND FOREIGN DEGREE-MERITS AND DE-MERITS

A lot of people might be wonder what am up to on this post. Well, the answer is simple, am here to spell out the advantages and disadvantages of having a local and a foreign degree.
Yes, as the names imply, a foreign degree is obtained abroad, while a local degree is issued in individual's home country.
However, there's a whole lot of difference between the two certificates and that's just what I will be talking about today.
Let me start with a local degree. As the name implies, a local degree is obtained in ones home country. The advantages of a local degree are that you can obtain it with little or no stress and the cost of obtaining it is not much compared with a foreign degree. The other advantage is that you can work with it in your home country. The major disadvantage of this type of degree is that the scope is limited to ones home country, i.e you may not be able to use it abroad as employers look at such certificates as cheap and below standard.
A foreign degree/certificate on the other hand has lots of advantages. A degree obtained abroad especially in developed countries like Germany, USA, England etc can be used to secure employment anywere in the world. Also, the holder of a foreign degree is respected and gets better pay anywere he choses to work. In other words, with a foreign degree, the sky is your stepping stone to greatness! The benefits cannot be overemphasised.
But you know, whatever has advantages has setbacks as well. Infact the only setback with a foreign degree is just the cost or financial involvement. To get a foreign degree, you need a strong financial base or a scholarship.
However, though the cost may be high, obtaining a foreign degree is a worthwhile venture that can change ones whole life. And with it, believe me, you can get to anywere you wish to, in the world!
Now the decision is yours, consider the pros and cons of both degrees and go for the very best.
Thanks for reading my post and watch out for more!!

POINTS TO NOTE WHEN APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

1. Prepare in advance.
Get all your application materials ready. These materials include, your statement of result, transcripts, TOELF or GRE results, Statement of purpose usually not more than 2000 words and reference letters.
2. Be patience.
To get a scholarship, you really need patience as you will need to apply to as many scholarships as possible. Bear in mind that scholarship committees have their benchmark for selecting candidates. So if you are not picked by a particular board it doesnt mean you will never be picked by another scholarship board!
3. Apply Randomly.
As i said in point 2 above, scholarship boards have different selection criteria. So you need to apply to as many scholarships as you can so as to stand a chance of getting at least one.
4. Prepare a nice statement of purpose.
Infact this is the engine room of your application- statement of purpose. Selection of candidates is majorly based on statement of purpose! A superbly written statement of purpose will surely win the hearth of the selection committee. Go to www.statementofpurpose.com for samples.
5. Make good use of search engines.
I like emphasizing on this issue because I know the benefits of search engines. Infact, you can get answers to virtually all the questions in the world, with the use of search engines.
Moreover, 98% of scholarships are advertised on the net, so you really need to make use of it if you really need a scholarship. Examples of these search engines are:
www.google.com
www.ask.com
and many others.
If you put all these to use, you will surely get that scholarship you have been looking for!
Thanks for reading my post and see you again latter

HOW TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS ABROAD

So many youths today are eager to study abroad but the resources to achieve this, is unavailable. So today, I am going to talk about the procedures or techniques you have to employ when applying for scholarships abroad. Note that if you cannot study abroad on a scholarship, you can enroll in a low tuition university in Turkey or elsewhere.
You see, every year, thousands of organisations, NGO's, individuals etc give out lots of scholarships to aid international students pursue their studies abroad. But sad to say that 60% of these scholarships are not claimed. The reason being that a good number of people don't believe they can actually get such scholarships, some on the other hand don't get the information on time.
Well, I want to asure you that irrespective of your results, race or gender, you can apply for a scholarship and win it! The scholarship committee don't only look at results, they consider other factors like field of study, statement of purpose etc. So, do not be discouraged by the fact that you've not got a fantastic result, just apply to as many scholarships as you can and you will get one at the end of the day.
All what you need to do is to get your application materials ready, so you can apply before deadline.
The key to winning scholarships is to apply on time with complete application package. Most organisations giving out scholarships require that you include your results, transcripts, statement of purpose, reference letters and sometimes TOEFL in your application package. I have posted an article on how to write a good statement of purpose, so go check it out!
Finally, make good use of the search engines so as to know when scholarships are advertised. This is very very necessary as 90% of scholarships now are advertised on the net. So without searching for them, you will not know when such scholarships are advertised.
Thanks very much for reading my post, see you again next time!

TIPS ON HOW TO WRITE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

A statement of purpose is an essay about ones achievements, academic records, hobbies etc. In other words, it explains everything you have done and will continue to do in your academic pursuits. As such, it has to be detailed and straight to the point. Nowadays, admission and scholarship committees use statement of purpose as the benchmark for selecting candidates. For example, if you are applying for a scholarship abroad, you will be expected to write a statement of purpose. This essay is going to explain your achievements both in academics and entire life to the scholarship committee. Hence, it has to be detailed an concise. Do not use ambiguous terms or words as this will only distort the idea.
HOW TO WRITE A STATEMENT OF PURPOSE.
1. Start by describing yourself, the school you went to, the programme you studied and why you choosed that programme.
2. Explain the reason why you choosed that particular programme as well as the school you have chosen.
3. Next, talk about the relevance of the programme you studied to the one you intend to study.
4. Talk about your achievements in your field of study.
5. Deviate a little bit from academics and talk about your hobbies.
Finally, explain how the programme you have chosen will help you develope yourself, your community and the country as a whole. If you follow these steps, you will write a nice statement of purpose that will earn you a scholarship or admission. Thanks

STUDY ABROAD [POST-GRADUATE PLUS REQUIREMENTS]

Today, I want to talk about postgraduate study abroad  requirements. Yes, postgraduate study as the name implies, is for individuals that have got their degree already and decide to move to the next level.
Read alsoUniversity of Toronto Acceptance Rate
However, to be illegible for post graduate study, you have to meet certain requirements.
First and foremost, you must have your degree result and transcripts ready. The transcripts must show details of all the courses you have done in your degree programe and must all relate to the course you want to study in your masters.
Next, you have to write a statement of purpose of not more than 2000 words. A statement of purpose is an essay about your achievements, academic records, what you hope to study and the relevance of what you hope to study to your country and the society. All these things make up statement of purpose.
Remember that you must tailor your statement of purpose to the programe you hope to study. Visit www.essayedge.com for more details on how to write admission and scholarship statement of purpose.
Next, get a recommendation letter from your lecturers preferably, proffesors who know you well. This letter is usually two.
Finally, you should have a TOEFL result/score. If you don't, visit any center around you and sit for the exams. The exam is usually made up of two parts- written and oral parts, it is meant to measure your english language at the international level.
Alternatively, in the absence of toefl, you can get a letter from your school stating that the official language of instruction is english language...some schools accept it.
But, I strongly recommend toelf result as most universities use it as requirement for selection. If you have all these things I have mentioned, you are good to start your masters programe in any university in the world! Thanks for reading my post. Check back again for more info.

An individual that studies abroad will also learn new cultures, languages and will also recieve sound training from sound lecturers. Infact, if I continue to enumerate the benefits of schooling abroad, this blog will not contain it!
So having said all these, let me now talk about the requirements for undergraduate study abroad then some other time, I will talk about postgraduate and doctoral study.
UNDERGRADUATE STUDY:
Undergraduate study is for individuals that have finished colleges/secondary schools and want to study a degree programe in the university.
However, to be accepted for a degree programe you must fulfill some requirements, one of which is that you must have your O'level SSCE/GCE results ready and at least 5 credit passes
in relevant subjects including use of english.
Requirements vary from school to school so you have to check their sites to see if you meet the requirements.
Finally, you need your international passport as most schools require that you send a photocopy along with your application package.
